The LMAC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the 2026 Convention and Annual Meeting will be held in Medicine Hat, Alberta, May 7-10. The host market will be S.A.L.E. – Cowtown Livestock Exchange in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan. Maple Creek will host the Canadian Livestock Auctioneering Championships on Friday, May 8.
The host provincial associations will be the Saskatchewan Livestock Marketers and the Alberta Auction Markets Association. Local hosts will be Jay and Gail Syverson and Tyler and Tennille Cronkite.
LMAC President Craig Jacklin says, “LMAC is excited to host its convention in Medicine Hat/Maple Creek. It is the first time LMAC has chosen both communities.”
Cowtown Manager Tyler Cronkhite invites all livestock auctioneers to the event. Tyler has been a long-time supporter of the LMAC Championships and has competed in the event across Canada.
The Medicine Hat/Maple Creek areas are certainly cattle country and offer unique attractions to see and things to do while attending the convention.
LMAC will be presenting a strong agenda of business and knowledgeable speakers on various current topics in the livestock marketing industry.
Convention Central will be at the Medicine Hat Lodge. Please ask for the LMAC convention rate when booking rooms in order to get into the LMAC block and the LMAC discounted convention rate. Online convention registrations are required and will be available on 3Common event site in mid-December.
Convention Chairman Rick Wright is hoping for 36 auctioneers for this year’s championship. Wright said, “Tyler and the Cowtown crew did a bang-up job on the Man/Sask Championships a few years ago, and LMAC is looking forward to working with the S.A.L.E. market in Saskatchewan.”
Gail and Jay Syverson joined the LMAC family many years ago and have attended a number of the conventions. Their involvement in the convention gives LMAC a strong local presence at Convention Central in Medicine Hat.
