In the best interests of our members, industry partners and the public in general the Livestock Markets Association of Canada has decided to cancel their 2020 Convention along with the 2020 Canadian Livestock Auctioneering Championships that were scheduled for September in Virden Manitoba.
LMAC President Rob Bergevin stated “As industry leaders it was the responsible thing to do at this time. It was not an easy decision but the COVID-19 pandemic is far from over. The safety of our members, their families and customers is paramount.” Bergevin added “the challenges of the public gathering restrictions and concerns about bringing members from across Canada to one location also influenced the decision.”
Host Committee Chairman Rick Wright says they are looking at rescheduling with May 13 to 16, 2021 for the new dates and the venues remaining the same. Those that registered online for this year’s events will receive full refunds.
The Livestock Markets Association of Canada represents the livestock marketing sector including auction markets, buying stations and order buyers from across Canada.
