2009 Convention Round Up

This years convention will be held in Brooks, Alberta and is hosted by the Alberta Auction Market Association. The hosting Market is Bow Slope Shipping Association. Convention headquarters is the Heritage Inn Hotel and Convention Center, in Brooks.
This years marks the 12th Annual Convention and will be as exciting as ever: Brooks and the surrounding community hold many points of interest. It has a strong agricultural base and is home to Canada’s largest feedlot. The Brooks area is also home to very high quality ranch cattle and of course- great Canadian beef !

The Auctioneer Championship will be held on Friday, May 29 at Bow Slope Shipping Association, followed in the evening by the Awards Banquet at the Heritage Inn & Suites.

Saturday morning will begin with a breakfast buffet, followed by the Annual Business Meeting. This years’ theme is Value Added for our Customers with Steve Primrose and Rick Wright providing an update on Traceability

Our second speakers’ topic is The Value of Traceability: Who, What, Where and How?

On Saturday afternoon, there will be a Trap Shooting Competition and a tour to the Dinosaur Provincial Park.This park is world famous and the trip there will take you through another world of hoodoos, pinnacles, coulees and buttes.
There will be a BBQ and live music on Saturday evening at the Brooks Clays and Feathers Club.
